Nothing Says Love Like a Bag of Lindt Truffles

And my parents do know how to show their love. Thanks Mom and Dad!

So- now the spring cleaning marathon has begun. The boys are with their father for the week, so it's fairly safe to assume that any cleaning I do will actually stay done for at least 5 days.

Oh Joy.

If there are any positives to be found in my divorce and the complete separation of the two family units, that would be the one. When the boys are away, the house stays clean for the duration. Find your happies wherever you are able.

As I said, the spring cleaning marathon has begun, though I find it hard to keep myself going for more than a half hour or so at a time. What I really want to do is sit down at the computer and surf. Or read. Or fiddle with the camera. There are infinite choices of things I'd rather do, but none of those choices will get my house cleaned up. So far I've washed and waxed a couple of floors, gotten the laundry done, started on the blankets, and made a dent on Mount Recycling. Not bad for a start. My plan is to do a bit each day.

The folks and I have had a meeting of the mindless and we've kind of all decided that my present house will be a permanent fixture and therefore will need some serious TLC. I live in a (oh, how I hate the word) trailer. I prefer the term 'Mobile Home' which doesn't conjure the mental image of an Earl-esque trailer park. Oh, what would Jimmy Buffett say?

Excuse me while I dream of tropical islands for a bit...

There

The title of this post is actually a reference to a song that I absolutely love -There by James Lee Stanley.

Did I mention that I bought a new camera? It's a nifty little Canon that, while reasonably inexpensive, still got some pretty rave reviews from those at the techie websites. No wonder it got such great reviews- the thing came with a 200 page manual! Techies are freaks..

Anyway. Last weekend I was walking around outside at twilight (what a great word- twilight) and trying my hand at artistic type stuff. I clicked this one, that I'm kind of taken with. I actually will give credit to Niece #2 for the idea- she took one that was very similar and I really liked it. It's neat to know that something I find so pretty can be found just outside my door. Kind of speaks of life, in a philosophical way.

Stop looking far and wide and look in your own back yard. It's all there.

I now know the secret!

People don't marry for love or need or companionship. They marry so there is someone else to rake the snow off the roof in the winter-time!
